there’s a relatable, tender wistfulness to this little painting. we’ve all had those moments of feeling like we’re on the outside looking in, like the little tree in the bottom left waiting to grow up, wishing to be included. or maybe we’ve been the couple waiting for a little one to join us. our reasons or the particulars may be different, but the feeling is universal.
