this painting evokes memories of both the salish sea in washington and the coastline of acadia national park in maine. i went to college in bellingham, washington, and my husband has family in maine, so this view ties together fond memories of family in both places. whenever i try to paint one place, it ends up looking like the other, tying together the eastern and western coasts.
