theme: healing with support
song: angels' lullaby by emilie-claire barlow (recently, emilie-claire shared with me that her mom judy wrote this song -- what a beautiful connection: a mother-daughter song representing how to move through some of the most difficult times in our lives!!)
no matter the change or the challenge, it's important to feel we are supported when trying to heal, grieve a loss, or have need for change.
the birds in this piece: a roseate spoonbill, indigo bunting, hummingbird, gray-crowned crane & great egret represent the small tribe of support we can have while we are healing. sometimes we know exactly who those loved ones are that are helping us -- other times, they might be the angels that emilie-claire sings about -- we may not see them, but they are there to give comfort and love during these difficult times.
the birds in the birdbath: roseate spoonbill, indigo bunting and hummingbird are safely rejuvenating together. the birdbath represents the healing living waters of Christ -- a rebirth and renewal. spoonbill are protective birds that carefully nurture one another. the indigo bunting represents renewal, hope, new beginnings, faithfulness, loyalty, wisdom & understanding. the hummingbird represents love, joy, good luck and is a beacon of positivity. the gray-crowned crane and cattle egret are protected beneath the flowers. healing within beauty & hope helps us keep moving through the hardest of life's challenges. egrets symbolize peace, tranquility, purity, long life, strength & endurance. cranes represent wisdom, longevity, prosperity & peace – all things that will aid our healing.
spotted orchids represent the sacrifice our savior has made for each of us. in general, orchids symbolize royalty, prosperity, beauty, honesty & virtue. gold gerber daisies to remind us of our worth -- they also represent beauty, innocence & purity. the dark black background portrays the cozy space needed to allow the healing to take place and that while still in the darkness of healing, we can find comfort and then eventually move toward the light.
