theme: full of hope
song: i wish you love by sarah mckenzie
as we face and work through various stages of grief – as we begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel, there are moments when we are simply full of hope. we may not know how exactly we’re going to get to our end goal, but we have enough to work toward that goal and find a way to get there. sometimes this hope comes from loved ones – other times it’s completely heaven-sent.
in this painting, these olive branches are brought symbolically by the doves throughout the painting. not surprisingly, doves symbolize hope. i had no idea how many colorful species of doves there are – in my research, i was enamored and decided to only include doves in this piece to represent all the different ways heaven sends hope to our hearts when we need it most. fruit doves, emerald doves, golden fruit doves, rose-crowned fruit doves, and collard doves! As for the flowers, i also chose those whose symbols included hope: chrysanthemum, almond blossoms, iris & poppies
