song: i've got plenty to be thankful for by bing crosby.

i've been researching symbolism in specific flowers, birds and plants. this oil painting has flowers and birds that represent personal growth and the potential to become more than we are, thanks to our creators. there's much to be grateful for!

daffodils represent rebirth, new beginnings, and peacefulness of mind. king protea remind us of courage, strength, & resilience as they can grow in very difficult circumstances. eucalyptus branches & trees are holy to australian aboriginals – they have a cleansing & purifying effect, helping us strip away our fears in order to embrace truth. spotted orchids represent the blood of Christ. also in the piece is a bird bath to symbolize Christ’s living waters, baptism, becoming clean etc. the birds included invite us to reach towards the heavens. the roseate spoonbill invites us to care for each other, overcome obstacles, and to use wariness when defending others.

for me personally, i love painting birds and creatures to invite us to remember those loved ones who’ve passed on – looking for ways they are still supporting and loving us today.
