as a colorado native I grew up with my state flower growing in my childhood gardens. now in my adult years it is one of the flowers that brings me back
creating art is something that has been an integral part of life for crystal despain since she was old enough to wield a crayon. from early days of creative play to years of intense technical study, painting remains a source of communication, reflection, challenge and joy. though generally recognized for her figurative work crystal often journeys into still lives and landscapes as inspiration leads her. crystal lives in a cozy colorado town with her husband, 5 sons and sole female companion, a whippet named indie.
