creating art is something that has been an integral part of life for crystal despain since she was old enough to wield a crayon. from early days of creative play to years of intense technical study, painting remains a source of communication, reflection, challenge and joy. though generally recognized for her figurative work crystal often journeys into still lives and landscapes as inspiration leads her. crystal lives in a cozy colorado town with her husband, 5 sons and sole female companion, a whippet named indie.
