carl and i celebrated our dancing & culinary school daughter's high school graduation with her in the south of italy the first week of may. our trip inspired me in so many ways. it was also a wonderful reminder of the adventures studying abroad a summer in torino - italian hilltowns and italian gardens. in this latest floral & bird series, i chose birds and flowers found in italy.
the black swan represents mystery, the unexpected, changing from a victim to the victor, and being able to thrive in the face of a major game change. another symbol of the black swan is more of a IYKYK lol. while spending a semester abroad in italy, i bought & listened to a laura pausini cd while i was working away on studio projects for my landscape architecture classes. this song in particular talks about that feeling of solitude - sometimes we need it to evolve, change and face change. wishing all in '25 a black swan of change and victory.
** original oil paintings are created in my midway utah studio. each piece is created with so much oil paint, using her brushes and palette knives. candy colored oil paint covered in varnish to protect each piece.
