as we meditate on what we need to do to become our true authentic self, sometimes the answers come quickly -- other times we patiently wait. most of the time it's extremely humbling, but at times, we find reason to celebrate and use that hope to courageously press forward. the blue heron represent self determination, self-reliance. the orchids symbolize faith and new beginnings. eucalyptus represent purity and cleansing. protea bloom in difficult circumstances. the bird bath is a representation of resurrection and rebirth. within the bird bath are magpies and a summer tanager. magpies are attracted to the shiny distractions in life. they remind us to let go of those things that really don't matter and to pursue the weightier matters. the summer tanager symbolizes passion, creativity, vitality and authenticity.
** original oil paintings are created in my midway utah studio. each piece is created with so much oil paint, using her brushes and palette knives. candy colored oil paint covered in varnish to protect each piece.
