11x14" oval, oil on wood, 2" deep sides gilded gold, lightly varnished, wired and ready to hang.
it took me a while to paint florals...i'm a questioner in most things, and don't want to do something just because others are doing it. so, it took me a while to give in and do it...but once i did...i knew my heart and soul would never be the same. there is something so comforting about flowers. i love that i can hang them on the wall and feel their goodness wafting in from outside...they require no water or sunlight and are always blooming lol. the thick paint makes them feel even more alive to me. the song "petite fleur" by jill barber was the perfect accompaniment to this piece...if you don't know her, you can listen here.
each piece in this collection isa celebration of those sweet moments in between the hard and unsavory. this exhibit will be a refuge from the unwanted parts of life .that so often visit us all. with their stained-glass shine, each colorful piece will be sweet windows to the soothing natural world and deepest memories in our hearts. peaceful landscapes, still life, flora & fauna, florals in vases with birds & insects hiding within the branches, and favorite places & things that evoke unforgettable memories, will sweeten and uplift all who view them.
