carl and i celebrated our dancing & culinary school daughter's high school graduation with her in the south of italy the first week of may. our trip inspired me in so many ways. it was also a wonderful reminder of the adventures studying abroad a summer in torino - italian hilltowns and italian gardens. in this latest floral & bird series, i chose birds and flowers found in italy.
european rollers are a new favorite bird of mine. they symbolize deep connection, love and marriage. daffodils are a wonderful remembrance of renewal and hope. while in tropea, we took a boat ride and it was a party boat of sorts lol. couples from all over the world enjoying the beautiful views of the southern italian coast. it became a dance party to some very old italian love songs. this one by ricci and poveri is one that was played over and over as we danced our hearts out.
** original oil paintings are created in my midway utah studio. each piece is created with so much oil paint, using her brushes and palette knives. candy colored oil paint covered in varnish to protect each piece.
